Lamette , per chi non lo sa è una web fanzine che si occupa di musica & cultura autodistruttiva degli sporchi giovani.
È uscita in questi giorni la guida illustrata al frastuono più feroce, una proposta editoriale inedita sul panorama fumettistico italiano.
Si tratta di un volume in cui una squadra di autori (tra cui il sottoscritto) si cimenta nell’interpretazione grafica di grandi classici di musica garage, rock e punk!

ARTISTI PER L'ABRUZZO!

Recentemente ho deciso di entrare nel gruppo di face book “artisti per l’Abruzzo”.
Nonostante non mi senta costretto ad aderire a queste iniziative questo gesto non mi costa molto anche e soprattutto perché i problemi di quella zona non finiranno certo in un paio di mesi.
Confidando di dare un buon contributo ho deciso di inviare questa illustrazione a Tomato farm affinchè si possa organizzare un asta di beneficenza in favore delle vittime del sisma.
L’illustrazione è uno dei bozzetti scartati del progetto “Jam ed Erys” di cui ho fatto parte lo scorso inverno.


Recently I decided to enter into the group “Artists for Abruzzo”.
Although I don’t feel coerced to attend to this initiative this gesture doesn’t “cost” too much to myself also and above all cause that country’s problems will not be solved in uone or two months.
Hoping my contribution will be enough I’ll send this illustration to Tomatofarm in order to organize a charity auction to help earthquake’s victims.
This image (with thw other) is one of the discarded pre-emptive sketches for the comic “Jam & Erys”.

PAESI!!!

In questo periodo sono stato coinvolto nella manifestazione “Paesi”, un evento che raggruppa varie feste paesane della lucchesia sotto un unico grande calendario.

Sono infatti tante le feste e gli eventi sociali promossi dalle piccole associazioni paesane e spesso per mancanza di mezzi di queste ultime non sono pubblicizzate come dovrebbero!

All’interno di questo percorso io e la mia “squadra” di disegnatori abbiano iniziato un attività di disegno “en plein air”: durante le varie feste saremo in tre o quattro a raffigurare le varie locazioni e monumenti con una serie di illustrazioni fantasy a tema che presenteremo poi in una mostra collettiva l’11 Luglio in Piazza San Michele al loggiato pretorio!

In this period I involved in “Paesi”, an event that brackets various rural festivities in a single, big calendar!

During this “journey” trough the various villages me and my “Drawing team” began an “En plein air” drawing activity: during events we’ll realize various fantasy illustration using the locations visited as backgrounds.

After we’ll present all our entire works in an exhibition in Piazza San Michele (lucca) on 11^th in july!

Questa sera alle 21 e 30 presso il centro di arti contemporanee SPAM (Viale Europa 137/a, Lammari LU) si terrà un grande evento artistico: troverete spettacoli e installazioni di danza , teatro, video, musica e fumetto!
Il sottoscritto e gli allievi del corso di comics hanno preparato per voi lo show di SPAMMAN, l’antieroe che vive inconsapevole (o no?) le miserie della vita moderna e prolungheremo lo show disegnando dal vivo per buona parte della serata!

Aspettando che questo anno arrivi lentamente alla fine , carico di promesse più di altre volte, eccovi le ultimissime prove per Jam ed Erys.
Dobbiamo (devo) ancora lavorarci un po' ma stiamo arrivando ad una forma del prodotto definitiva, anche se lentamente.
Chissà come finirà l'epopea delle nostre due sfigatissime streghine...:)

We (I) must work on it a little more but we are arriving to a defined form, even if slowly.

Pochi giorni fa durante le lezioni che tengo al centro di arti contemporanee SPAM, grazie alla collaborazione di Ilaria Masini, Luca Lenci e Tommaso Mancini ha visto la luce la nostra personale mascotte.
Ecco a voi SPAMMAN, supereroe del tragicomico, con cui cercheremo di quantificare le domande della vita.
SPAMMAN sarà il leitmotiv dell’installazione che realizzeremo nel centro SPAM verso Giugno in occasione della fine dei corsi.

Few days ago, during my lesson at SPAM contemporary art centre, with the help of Ilaria Masini, Luca Lenci and Tommaso Mancini, our private mascotte is born.
Here you are SPAMMAN, the tragicomical superhero, using wich we’ll try to quantify life’s questions.
SPAMMAN will be the leitmotiv of the installation we’ll realize at SPAM centre in June at the course’s end.

INTERMISSION

Aspettando di cimentarmi in alcune nuove mirabolanti imprese grafiche sto passando un periodo lavorativo piuttosto pieno.
In tutto questo marasma di cose da fare e organizzare una tra le cose più divertenti che ho fatto è questa illustrazione di prova che vedete qui sotto!
Mi ha divertito molto soprattutto perchè mi ha obbligato a riprendere in mano le care vecchie ecoline...



Waiting to essay in some new great graphic exploits I'm living a work's period enough full.
In all this "caos" one of the most funny thing I did is this little illustration you can see behind.
It diverted me so much cause it forced me to use another time the dear, old Ecoline...

LUCCA ANIMATION 2009

Fino a domani 22 marzo ci sarà a Lucca il Lucca animation festival, un evento in cui potrete trovare film e prodotti animati da ogni parte del mondo (visita il sito http://www.luccanimation.com/ )!
Ho lavorato anche io per questa fiera, realizzando la guida illustrata per l'uso della macchina per fare film in stop-motion che si trova all'interno della fiera, usando la quale si possono realizzare veri e propri piccoli film animati!
Non ho altro da dire se non "Buona visione!" :)


Till tomorrow will be in Lucca the Lucca animation festival, a convention in wich you can see animated movies and product form everywhere (http://www.luccanimation.com/)!
For this event I worked too, realizing an illustrated guide for the Stop-motion machine you'll find inside the convention, using wich you'll have the possibility to realize directly a little animated movie!

BEER KILLER'S RETURN!

E rieccomi anche qui! Dopo una lunga pausa dovuta al trasloco (vedi http://ruggine.ilcannocchiale.it/) apro con un vecchio lavoro riemerso dagli anni passati.
Non so se ricordate la cover che feci per i Beerkillers: adesso il gruppo, che suona principalmente per finanziare attività animaliste, ha aperto un suo sito all’indirizzo http://www.beerkiller.net/index.htm .
Tanto per variare il lavoro già proposto vi mostro le varie fasi intermedie dal layout al definitivo!

So here I am here too! After a looong pause caused by a move (see at http://ruggine.ilcannocchiale.it/) I open with an old work “reemerged” from my past.

To change a little the work already seen I posted the various work in progress’s phases, from lay out to definitive drawing!

"PUCCINI PER I PICCINI"

Il 2008 è stato l'anno delle celebrazioni Pucciniane e come è noto ai più Puccini è uno dei più illustri cittadini Lucchesi, grande musicista e autore di opere liriche famose in tutto il mondo.
Adesso, grazie ad un progetto de Lo schermo, potrete leggere Puccini in una chiave del tutto diversa.
Infatti, con l'aiuto di Jacopo Moretti, ho realizzato 4 storie a fumetti dedicate a 4 famose opere Pucciniane: la Fanciulla del West, Turandot, Madama Butterfly e Gianni Schicchi (potete ammirare le 4 eroine delle storie qua sopra).
Questo progetto nasce dall'idea di proporre Puccini in maniera meno "seriosa" e più in linea con i nostri tempi: un modo per darne un "assaggio" anche a chi, preso dai ritmi frenetici della vita odierna, non ha tempo per poterlo conoscere e gustare con la dovuta calma.
Questo a mio giudizio potrebbe anche essere un modo per introdurre tematiche un po' più interessanti del solito anche ad un pubblico più giovane, saltando qual gap che è dato, purtroppo, anche dal tempo!
2008 was the year of Giacomo Puccini's celebrations and, as we know, Puccini is one of the greatest Lucca's citizens, great musician and various famous opera's author.
Now, in collaboration with Lo Schermo, you'll can read Puccini with a completely different point of view.
Infact, with the help of Jacopo Moretti I realized 4 comic stories dedicated to 4 famous Puccini's operas: La fanciulla del West, Turandot, Madama Butterfly and Gianni Schicchi (you can see the storie's heroines in the image above).
This project is born from the idea of introdude Puccini in a less "serious" way more conformable respect our times: a way to give a "taste" to people who, taken by actual frenetic life's rhythm, hasn't time to know him right.
That could be, in my opinion, a way to present more interesting themes to a young public too, jumping the "gap" given by the time!

DON CHISCIOTTE

Questo è il lavoro che ho realizzato nell'Area Performance di Lucca Games quest'anno. Non sono ancora pienamente soddisfatto ma faccio cmq progressi!

ARRIVANO JAM & ERYS!

Durante l'ultima edizione di Luccacomicsandgames è uscito Jam ed Erys, un progetto nel quale rivesto il ruolo di art director e che ha visto la partecipazione di molte persone.
Si tratta di un progetto che ha ampie aspirazioni e che vorrebbe partire dal fumetto uscendo dai suoi margini per esplorare anche altre strade!
Il tutto è nato da un idea orchestrata da Marco Turini, che ha formato un gruppo di lavoro che ha poi dato vita al tutto: per saperne di più andate al link http://www.myspace.com/jamerys!!
L'idea grafica è stata realizzata coralmente da Me, Matteo Berton e Francesco Pugliese (nessun link per lui, sorry perchè è bravo assai!) partendo dalle sceneggiature di Vincenzo Mugittu e dai modelli ispiratori della serie e cioè Francesca "Bluelilith" ed Elisa Vincenti, le affascinanti eroine "vere" che hanno dato vita alle nostre streghine pasticcione!
I temi affrontati nel fumetto, non sono come quelli trasognati e infantili di altri: non fraintendete partendo dalla cover nella quale potreste vedere semplicemente altre due maghetete frivole e oche! Speriamo la nostra creatura piaccia perchè abbiamo intenzione di diffonderla e farla crescere ancora parecchio!

A breve lo presenteremo in vari altri eventi e/o negozi quindi restate sintonizzati!








During last Luccacomicsandgames's edition we have presented Jam & Erys, a project in wich I am the art director and that is composed by other various peoples!
That's a project that has ample ambitions and that wanna start from the comic exploring other ways in therms of expression!

The Graphic concept was realized by Me, Matteo Berton and Francesco Pugliese (sorry, no Link for him but trust in me, is greatful!), starting from the text of Vincenzo Muggittu and form our two Real models, Francesca "Bluelilith" and Elisa Vincenti, marvellous models who gave a face to our "TinkerBells"!!
Comic's themes are different and various and aren't the same Childy affairs described in other comics: don't misunderstand this comic looking only at the external appearance in wich you could see only other two stupid fashion witches!
We hope peoples likes our creature cause we wanna diffuse and make grow up it anymore!

Soon we'll present it in other palces or events so stay tuned!!!

ART N' COMICS

Dal 18 Ottobre la manifestazione annuale Luccacomicsandgames è ufficialmente iniziata.

Nella splendida location di Palazzo ducale potrete ammirare le mostre personali di Silvia Ziche, John Romita Junior, Andrea Bruno, Grzegorz Rosinski e Francois Boucq,
le due mostre collettive Polski Komiks (dedicata all'arte e al mercato del fumetto polacco) e Viaggi Senza Frontiere e un'esposizione che riunisce le gesta dei due nuovi eroi della casa milanese Bonelli: Volto Nascosto e Jan Dix.

Infine, ultima ma non meno importante, la mostra ARTE E FUMETTO realizzata da me e Giovanni Russo: si tratta di una mostra didattico-interattiva sui rapporti tra arte e fumetto
in cui ho contribuito realizzando tutto il percorso illustrato (di cui vedete un estratto sopra).

Si tratta di un esperimento che abbiamo voluto fare a tutti i costi e speriamo sia apprezzato dal grande pubblico del Salone, oltre che da tutti coloro che la visiteranno!

CORSI & RICORSI!

Buongiorno a tutti! Anzi, buonanotte...:P

Questo qui sopra è il frontespizio del mio terzo corso al negozio Otaku no Club con argomento ombre e le luci.
Il corso si è felicemente concluso due settimane fa ma voglio approfittarne per pubblicare i "regalini" che ho lasciato ai ragazzi per partecipazione: si tratta di piccoli Press-Papiers realizzati con acrilico bianco su carta nera.
Ne ho fatti 6 e questi due qui sotto rappresentano Ruggine e Corvo, due miei personaggi apprezzati anche dai ragazzi che hanno seguito le lezioni!

The fist image in this post is the frontispiece of my third course I made in the shop/association Otaku no Club, with arg black 'nd white tecnique.
The course is finished 2 weeks ago but I wanna take this chance to publish "presentes" I realized for the boys who followed my lessons: these are some Press-Papiers realized using white acrilic on black papers!
I have realized 6 of these sketchs and the 2 I have published here represents Grudge and Crow, 2 my characters really appreciated by the boys too!

SPORT 'N COMICS!!!

Questa è un immagine che verrà inserita nel catalogo dell'associazione FIOMAS in ambito alla manifestazione "Sportivamente" (visitate il sito http://www.sportivamente.org/ per avere dettagli).
Sullo stesso sito troverete la mascotte che ho realizzato per l'evento, RONDI - NINA!
Si tratta di un iniziativa che avrà eventi in tutta Italia che coinvolgeranno vari protagonisti della scena sportiva Italiana, in concomitanza con una mostra itinerante di "Fumetti & sport" curata da FIOMAS.

IRON TWISTER PAGE 1 & 2

Ecco finalmente IRON TWISTER, la storia che ho presentato a Lanciano per partecipare in veste di ex vincitore (edizione 2004).
Questa storia è per me un passo importante perchè mi ci sono dedicato anima e corpo tentando di trovare una formula personale per esprimere quello che voglio raccontare.
Posterò qui un anteprima di due pagine e lascerò ai miei collaboratori Francesco Matteuzzi e Ivan Annibali il compito di mostrare il resto!
Il risultato è grezzo e va raffinato ma grazie agli incontri con gli editori sono riuscito a capire altre cose: adesso starà a me metterle in pratica! Al lavoro!



Here you are finally Iron Twister, the story I presented to Lanciano's contest, attending to it as a past edition's winner (2004).
This story is a very important step for me cause I fully addicted myself to it trying to find a private form to express what I wanna tell.
I'll post here 2 page of preview and I'll leave the duty to show the rest to my contributors Francesco Matteuzzi and Ivan Annibali!
This result is artless and must be refined but thnks to meeting with editors I came to undestand other things: now I must use this knowledge to arrive to next step! Charge!

Ecco a voi il lavoro che presenterò a Lanciano, concorso che si è trasformato nel tempo in un interessante convention a fumetti di editori e quant'altro.
Questa immagine appartiene alla fase embrionale del progetto: i colori sono di Mirko babboni.
In questa seconda fase è venuto a crearsi un team composto da me, Francesco matteuzzi e Ivan Annibali.
Un solerte, arcigno e sfigatissimo pistolero alle prese con questioni assai spinose e donne formose! Al più presto su questo blog ( e sugli altri) le prime tavole!
